APRIL prothonotary warbler, crossvine & damselfly

Prothonotary Warblers, recently arrived from their Caribbean winter, pair off to start a family. Their home: a cavity created by the woodpecker & hidden in colorful clusters of crossvine flowers. He's a modern man - helping her build a nest of soft mosses & singing to her "sweet, sweet, sweet." When the little ones are small, he brings home butterflies, damselflies & spiders for everyone to share. All summer, they dart through the canopy - flying flowers

1 of 3 in the SPRING Collection from Seasons of a Cypress - a series of 12 connected images. 9 images are currently complete.

They are stand alone designs or can be arranged as one large cypress tree. The images are in seasonal collections, each month featuring a bird/plant/insect relationship.
