MAKE INK with oak galls & black walnuts                 

Connect natural science, history, culture, and creativity with Mississippi trees

Join artist and master naturalist Robin Whitfield for a hands-on exploration of the remarkable materials found in two familiar Mississippi trees. Play with the same materials used by native Americans, European Settlers and the first American lawmakers.

In this class you will :

  • Make a turkey feather quill 

  • Make 2 different ink from oak galls and black walnuts

  • Explore the ecological and cultural histories behind these materials

  • Write & create images on paper
